Blog Post #10: Past Classes

For blog post #10, where we had to analyze one of the past students’ project 3s, I took a look at Erika Craft’s. She used a T-shirt design, a play book, and a flyer. Two of her genres were primarily used for advertisement, those two being the t-shirt and the flyer. The T-shirt is a great way to promote… well anything, really. This is because whoever wears this shirt can broadcast the logo of the organization to hundreds of people just by walking down the street. People will wonder what company it’s from, or what exactly it’s promoting, and will likely go home and search it up online. For Erika’s flyer, she even went as far as posting it on some of the dorm walls to promote the organization. I thought the play book was an interesting genre to use, but it’s still effective for multiple reasons. This is a great way to show some of the technical aspects of the organization, it mainly uses pathos to appeal to the audience, which can attract some of the more technical and strategic population, thus increasing the amount of people likely to attend the event/organization. All of the genres she used were very well done, and I hope that I’m able to reach standards as high as hers.
